Ingleford Scaffolding was contracted to provide comprehensive access solutions for a major re-roofing and window replacement project at EE’s Tyneside site. The project required careful planning and execution due to the building remaining fully operational throughout the works, with minimal disruption to staff and ongoing business activities being a key priority.

Our solution involved the installation of independent scaffolding around the entire perimeter of the building, ensuring safe and secure access for the construction teams while accommodating the structural complexities of of the site.

A gantry birdcage scaffold was erected, which included a covered tunnel access for pedestrian traffic. This feature allowed employees and visitors to move safely and underneath the scaffold, maintaining uninterrupted access to the building. The tunnel was designed to meet strict safety regulations, ensuring both public safety and the protection of personnel working above.

To further support the project’s demands, we installed a heavy-duty loading platform at the main entrance. This platform was critical for handling and transporting heavy materials and equipment, allowing the roofing and window replacement teams to operate efficiently without disrupting EE’s daily operations.

Ingleford Scaffolding worked closely with the main contractors and site management team to ensure seamless co-ordination, with regular inspections and ongoing adjustments to the scaffolding as the project progressed. Our team’s attention to detail and commitment to safety ensured the project remained on schedule, allowing construction work to proceed smoothly in the fully operational environment.

This case study demonstrates Ingleford Scaffolding’s ability to deliver tailored, safe, and effective access solutions for complex projects, even in busy, high-traffic locations like the EE Tyneside site.
